When Should I Schedule My Session?

Newborn:  It is best to contact the studio to schedule your session well BEFORE Baby arrives.  We will “pencil in” your spot at that time based upon your due date.  Then, once Baby arrives, you will contact me as soon as you can to finalize your actual session date.  I suggest that on the day you book your session, place an easily seen reminder note to give me a call with your exciting news of Baby’s arrival!   Ideally, we will see you here within the first 8-12 days.  This is our SWEET SPOT in time when  your baby is in her/his Newborn prime allowing me to capture those irresistibly precious, sleepy, curled up poses.  Beyond 14 days that distinctive Newborn look begins to fade along with their ability to drop off to sleep as easily and as soundly.   But, have no fear…..we welcome our Two Weekers and beyond capturing beautiful images of Baby at their own uniquely wonderful stage of infancy.

Portrait:  I am generally booked out about approximately 2 weeks.  If you have a specific time in your child’s life that you would love to capture, please plan to schedule your session within 2-4 weeks of that date.

Petite Maternity Session:  By special request only and limited.  This is a short, sweet session scheduled about 6 weeks before your due date.  You’ll be glowing and showing so beautifully.  Sessions last approximately 1 hour and include up to 2 outfit changes.  Session goals, clothing and set options will be discussed prior to your session via consultation.  Sessions fee is $125 with a $250 minimum order required.

When Do I Pay for My Session?

Our standard Portrait Session Fee of $95 is due at the time you book your Session.  This secures your Pre-Consultation date and Session date on Nancy’s calendar.   For all other sessions, the balance of your session fee is due on the day of your session.

What Does My Session Fee Include?

Your session fee includes our time spent together capturing your images.   All my adorable hats, accents, backdrops and more will be at the ready to enhance, but never steal the show from the real star – your baby.  You will also return 2 weeks later for a very special presentation of your images at your Sales Session.

What is my Pre-Consultation all about?

This is time we will spend together before your session happens putting together important bits of information that will ensure YOUR baby’s session is over-the-top amazing.  This is scheduled at the same time you book your actual session date.  We’ll discuss things like your nursery colors, the styles of photography that you love or would like to become more familiar with.  You’ll also be able to take a peek at the wonderful home décor options available to you so that when you come in for your Ordering Session you are 100% in the know.

Where Will the Sessions Be?

Sessions take place in my Sebastopol, CA studio.  This is where we will have total access to my collection of beautiful backdrops, sets and accessories.  As your child grows we will venture out on to our 2+ acre Outdoor Studio to explore the many picturesque nooks and crannies that surround us.

How Long Will My Session Last?

Portrait:  The session will last just about one hour.  I never, ever like to rush my sessions or, if time permits, end a session just because the clock says so, especially if we’re in the middle of capturing an amazing moment and having a blast while doing it.

Newborn:  We especially NEVER rush our Newborn Sessions.  We will take as much time and cuddling as necessary to get Baby to sleep.  This is why we reserve about 3 full hours just for your little one.  We allow plenty of time for feeding and snuggling breaks during the session as well.

How Should I Prepare for My Session?

The key to an amazing Newborn Session is a sleepy baby.  A full tummy works wonders, so feeding them here just before your session is ideal.  We have a lovely, private area just for you and baby to relax and fill up the tank.

Also, please note that the balance of your Session Fee is due in full on the day of your Session.

What Do Mommy and Daddy Do During the Session?

Reeeeelax.  This is the perfect time for you to put your feet up, read a book, catch up on email, write your Thank You Notes or even catch a few Zzzzzzzzs.  You can rest assured in knowing that your little one is just steps away in caring, experienced hands.  An assortment of snacks and beverages will be there for you as well.  So, kick back and enjoy this little break in your very, very busy day (and night).

Uh Oh!  My Baby’s Sick.  What Do I Do Now?

Your baby, along with all our “Boutique Babies”, is our priority.  If your child is feeling less than 100% it’s best to reschedule.  After all, we want to capture your little one feeling happy, healthy and full of smiles.   Once your child is well, just contact the studio and we will do everything we can to get you rescheduled ASAP.

How and When Will I See My Images?

On the day of your Session we will schedule your return visit for approximately 2 weeks later.  This is when you will return to see your images in a very, very special presentation created exclusively for you.  (Shhhhhh, it’s a surprise.  I can’t give away all the surprises.)  This is also the time when you will place your order, so please be sure to bring along all decision makers and anyone who would like to place an order.  The more the merrier!

Please note:  Orders are to be paid in full at the time of your ordering session.  Payment plans are available.  Orders will be processed once your plan is paid in full.
